Coaches:
The 2005 Hood Cup schedule with lane assignments is now posted in
PDF format on www.boonecrew.com. If you cannot access it, drop me a
message at
cbruno@... and I'll send you a copy.
There will be heats-to-finals races only for Men's and
Women's
Eights races. All other races will be determined by the three
fastest times across all heats/flights in an event.
Teams intending to practice for Hood Cup may do so Friday from Noon
to 5 p.m. at Turkey Lake. All boats must leave the water by 5 p.m.
Friday since the park closes at 6 p.m. There will be Orlando Police
patrolling the park Friday evening until Saturday morning.
Good news for teams traveling to Turkey Lake by bus. We succeeded in
convincing the city of Orlando to waive the usual $40 bus fee,
though attendees arriving by car will still pay $4 per car load.
That money goes to the city; Boone Crew has nothing to do with the
entry fee charged for Turkey Lake Park.
Teams are permitted to scratch boats on Saturday for $25 per race
event; there will be no additional entries permitted Saturday.
Boone Coach Brandon Thompson will host the coaches/coxswains meeting
Saturday morning at 6:45 a.m. outside the Boone boathouse. Races
begin at 7:30 a.m.
Boone Crew will be selling 20-pound bags of ice for $3 on the
Saturday of the race. Look for the ice wagon near the Coke beverage
wagon. Please pass this on to your Board members.
Races will be run on seven-minute centers and race officials warn
that they will be starting races on time. Rowers that are hot-
seating are responsible for getting to the starting line on time;
races will not be held.
Best regards,
Charlie Bruno
