All,
Here are some reminders before we start the season:
PERMIT TO PRACTICE FORM
All athletes are required to have proof of physicals in hand the first day of practice (Monday, March 9th). This means they must have submitted proof of physical paperwork (if they use their own doctor) to the nurse and received the "permit to practice" form from the nurse. This is THE ONLY acceptable proof of physical for the coaches. Please DO NOT send a photocopy of the doctors paperwork to the coach as we cannot accept it. They MUST have the "permit to practice" form from the nurse. And they WILL NOT be allowed to practice until this has been submitted to their coach. NO EXCEPTIONS.
FREE PHYSICALS
The school is offering free physical this Thursday (March 5th) at 05:00 PM for boys and 06:00 PM for girls. All physicals take place at the High School, House II nurse's office. Please contact the school nurse or the athletic office at 692-1919 for the appropriate physical forms. Students must have received a valid athletic physical within the last year to be eligible to participate during the spring season. Physicals can be verified by checking with the school nurse. Upon verification, the school nurse will issue a "permit to practice" card.
AUTHORIZATION FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT (YELLOW) CARDS
Please DO NOT put down your athlete's coach as an emergency authorization person on these cards. If you do, we are required by law to accompany your son/daughter to the hospital and therefore leave the rest of the team at the boathouse or regatta, which puts us (as coaches) in direct violation of the rules of the athletic department. So again, please DO NOT put the coaches down for this role.
Please see the handbook for any other questions as new infomraiton has been added.
