You are on your own. All that I know is in this email.
Jiayuguan is the very end (or beginning, depending which way you look at it) of
the Great Wall. I was there a couple of years ago. It is in Gansu. Afterwards
we drove to Dunhuang, an oasis in the desert. Wonderful scenary, you could
combine it with a vacation. It is something like a 4 hour flight, I think that
bus/train would be maybe 3 days each way.
This race looks very cool but the transportation is making me hesitate
especially since I don't know much about the event. It looks like the
flight from Shanghai is going to cost about 3600rmb plus carrying the
bike. Has anyone found any less expensive, though possibly less direct
transportation options?
