First of all we wish you a good 2007! For Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team this will be an exciting year to fulfil our expectations and to further develop our Asian riders. What we saw in the first races was already good! The last few months were extremely busy with the team & rider registration, sponsor finding, logistics and of course races! Thanks to all of you supporting we managed to be ready for the first race on 6th of January 2007 in Malaysia!

There are 10 riders from Asia, 9 riders u26, we aim to add a few young Asian guys later this season. We are confident that we will be one of the strongest teams in Asian races. To Tour of Langkawi in Malaysia!
After a few years to get an entry we are happy to announce that our team will race in Tour of Langkawi in Malaysia from 2 to 11 February 2007. The Tour of Langkawi is together with Tour of Quinghai Lake the biggest cycling event in Asia.  Five Pro Tour Teams will start in Langkawi and there will be a pan- Asian media coverage including life TV broadcasts on Malaysian TV. First podium results in Tour of Malaysia
For the first two months of the year, the Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team will have the following program:

Tour Siam (Thailand) 20 ¨C 26 January www.tourofsiam. com
Tour of Langkawi (Malaysia) 2 ¨C 11 February www.tdl.com. my

In the first race of the new year The Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team managed to gain 3 podium results, 2nd, 2nd and 3rd by sprinter Sergey Koudentsov, although he was ill. Also in the first stage of Tour of Siam Sergey was 2nd. It will be a question of time when he will win his first race, hopefully in Langkawi! Also it was good to see that our two Chinese riders Yu Tong and Xing Yang Dong are developing really fast. For Xing Yan Dong it means that he will race in Tour of Langkawi.  

Charity in Tour of Islamabad/ Pakistan
The Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team will send a team to Tour of Islamabad from March 23 to 25, see www.kmt.org. pk/tok.asp . As you maybe know there was a huge earthquake end of 2005. The earthquake that hit the northern areas of Pakistan on the morning of October 8, 2005 was the most devastating natural calamity in the history of Pakistan. Estimates of loss of life  put the death toll at over 77,000. All proceeds of this project will go to the Kaghan Memorial School Project where a school is built up after being completely destroyed and nearly all children died. Let¡¯s go for raising many funds!
