The FHL website was created to provide Shanghai cyclists with updated information on group rides, events, links, and as an easy means of communication between Shanghai's active roadies. FHL meets regularly for group rides and racing in the Shanghai area. The FHL Shanghai Cycling group was originally formed in 2000 and has grown to over 300 members today.
The group consists of road bike riders of many ages and abilities, and includes a number of competitive triathletes as well. Mountain bikes are also welcome. Scheduled weekend rides are generally organised with a "fast" and "slow" group; riders of all abilities are welcome to join the group and train with other riders of similar abilities.
Scheduled Rides: We generally have riders going out on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Spring through Fall), and every Saturday and Sunday year round when weather permits. Click on the CALENDAR link to view meeting times, ride details, and information on group races. NOTE: Wet roads cancel all rides.
Click on LINKS to find easy access to cycling specific websites. Please let us know if you have any favorites that should be listed here. In the future we will have links to maps for the meeting locations and ride routes.
IMPORTANT: FHL rides are organised on an informal basis. Individuals join the group rides at their own risk and are solely responsible for their own safety. Riders should be prepared to cope with a variety of road conditions and traffic.
