Rowing folks will be launching from the north end of Horsetooth
reservior tomorrow at 7 am.
Fort Collins Rowing Association is accepting Charter Memberships
through June 1. 250 per family, 150 for full time students. After June
1 the family membership will be 250, and the student membership will
be $100. Our application whould be out next week.
This push is to complete the purchase of a midweight quad, 4 sets of
sculls, and a 48 foot long stroage container. I am working to get
details of the lease to place the container at an area on the East
side of the 'Tooth.
If you want to compete in national regattas, an individual membership
in USRowing will usually be required by the regatta. Insurance for
liability comes with that membership
If our funds allow, we will purchase a USRowing club membership, and
club insurance. That way each member will not have to be a member of
USRowing.
We are looking forward to assisting CSU Crew in accomodating equipment
storage and use. Perhaps swapping storage for use of their equipment,
or some other mutually beneficial arrangement.
I am working to get a lease to place the storage container on site.
Larimer County will be assessing a longer term boathouse space when it
puts its managment plan together next year.
Shell makers Vespoli and Wintech have invited FCRA to propose a plan
of shell purchase, and or lease. We will be looking for boats and oars
to allow us to have a summer Learn To Row program. FCRA will have a
better idea of where we stand after the Charter Members have made
their commitments.
