Re: FCRowing: Early season rowing

Hi Mark;
I will look at the web-site; thanks.  I look forward to giving it a go!

Ginny, check out some of the links on the FCRowing.com site. They have a glossary site on one site.
For more, Row2k.com is the best rowing site in the world.  A double scull is a two person boat (shell). The boat is about 32 feet long, a foot and a half wide, weighs about 65 pounds.  It has four outriggers (riggers) attached to the shell to hold the four oarlocks and the four, long, light oars, (sculls) .  Each rower handles two oars, just like any old row boat. But Faster! Most often they are used for racing, and training for racing. Racing is a flat out blast. And then you heave. Repeat as necessary. did I mention Faster?

And "willing to try" is what we promise every single time we row!

Hello;

I definitely qualify as a new rower, as I'm not exactly sure what a double scull is, but I would be willing to give it a try.

The water is open on Horsetooth and I'm back from skiing Canada.
I will be hunting a few of you down to have an introductory row in a
double scull. I would like to get a short list of those of you who
would like a little introduction row in the next three weeks.

Maybe you can help?  We are looking for a "temporary", meaning no
foundation, building for use as a boathouse. Does anyone have access
to, or contacts or information about a building that we can
purchase, transport and use for boat storage?
