Subject: [BCRMembers] Empacher 1x for sale
It's funny how rowing coaches can't afford rowing equipment - so I'm passing this along! This is a great boat if anyone is interested and in possession of $3750.....although I might try to talk him down a little! The seller is a former UPS coach, and the boat has been stored in our bay and rowed infrequently.
I can hand deliver it to your door next week if you want to act fast ; )

Hey Folks!I am selling my Empacher. I just picked up a 2001 cedar Pocock 1x and need to sell my Empacher to pay for it! I thought I’d hit up friends first and if no one is interested I’d list it on Row2k. If you know someone who might be interested please pass this on to them as well. It is a 1991 midweight hull (~150-180 lbs). It would be a great boat for an openweight woman or lightweight to small heavyweight guy. This is still a very light responsive boat that sets up really well and is very easy to row. I weigh around 190-195 and put taller pins on it to be able to clear the water. Even then, rough water was a real challenge so I bought a heavyweight boat. The hull is in excellent shape and has never been damaged. I crunched the last 2 centimeters of the stern once against the dock but it’s been patched up and never leaked. The rigger backstays are a little dinged up but still totally functional. I’ve recently put in new shoes and a new mounting plate for the shoes and it has 3 year old CII oarlocks & Pocock pins. I replaced the wheels/axles when I bought the boat 6 years ago. At some point before I got it, someone crashed the starboard rigger into something and it has a sleeve welded over the center of the tube on the stern side. Not the prettiest repair but it’s rock solid and I’ve never had a problem with it. I’m asking $3,750 for the boat and have some CII oars for sale as well if you need oars. I also just picked up a competition series 1998 midweight Pocock single that needed minor repairs and a TON of cosmetic work. I’m probably going to keep this boat in case my kids start rowing in a few years but I’m looking for someone local interested in a lease arrangement for a fast boat. I might consider selling it if someone is really interested in it. Let me know if you’re at all interested and I’ll send pics! Mike253-227-6828
