Re: [F125] fuel slosh problem?

how good is the fuel pick up in the tank? the hose normally needs to be
replaced every once in a while. it will get hard and the bob wont swing to the
side of the tank with the fuel.

normal carb or modified pumparound?
maybe the float in the carb could be sticking open or closed under side loads.

strange electrical short, kill switches have been known to do this.

ankle pressing on throttle cable not allowing you to smoothly open the throttle

Subject: [F125] fuel slosh problem?

Hi all,

We're experiencing a severe engine bog when applying throttle coming

out of a left hand sweeper or crossover. We don't notice it on a pin

turn, only on an extended left hander.

We just ran the NE Divisional @ Warminster, PA which is held on an

old airstrip. Saturday we had a right hand turn around at the end of

the runway and the engine didn't skip a beat. Sunday the course was

basically reversed and the engine bogged severely coming out of the

turn around.

Could this be fuel starvation due to slosh in the carb bowl?

Why would it only happen on extended left hand turns?

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Steve Lower

Yes, it is do to bowl g forces. On a short turn it's also there, but there is still enough fuel to feed the engine. There are a few solutions, I will mention...
