I am looking to get into 125 shifter kart solo class. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to what kart to use? I will be tipping the scale at the high
end of the weight scale. Are there any kart frames that are significantly
better or worse for this application?

don't know about which frame would be best, seems most are designed for a 145lb Italian guy. but I would suggest running a programing ignition with the 425lb...

um, that would be 415 lbs. If by "high end of the weight scale you mean 385 lbs. I would suggest not using a progamable ignition. However if you will be at or...

Actually, the Programmable Ignition (PI) weight minimum is 415 #. Chassis weights can vary a little bit, with the frame itself constituting most of the heft....
