Here's another email from the league coordinator. It looks like we will not
play this weekend. If you want to play that tournament on May 17 in Naperville,
I will not be able to attend (I'll be in N.Y.), so you will need to find another
adult. To use a school van, you would need another adult from school. Give it
some thought!
We are very unlucky this year weather wise, but we are healthy in spirit.
Apologies should go out to the seniors who have missed many league games, but
really it is an unfortunate turn of events. This being the wettest Spring ever,
combined with new fields that really do not drain well, we are left with very
little choice in these matters. We don't want to undermine the relationship with
the Forest Preserve. We need teams to get their schools to help provide us with
field space for next year.
There will be no games this weekend.
We will hold our final tournament at the Naperville Polo Fields on May 17th.
More details to follow. We will provide a bar-b-que lunch for all players and
coaches. You may bring your own grills if you wish (but they must be used in a
certain area). Each team will get to play at least two games. More may be set up
if you wish. Special parking areas must be used. There are very special rules
that must be followed in Naperville and those will be provided in the next few
messages. Again, we regret any travel arrangements that need to be changed
(school buses and such). We are trying to give you as much notice as possible.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are planning on coming or not so
we can begin to set up brackets for the tournament.
Thank you all for trying to understand this unfortunate turn of events, but we
are trying to make the best of it.
Carey Goldenberg
Grateful for cooperation and support.
