spring season

Let me reinforce Alison's message:

We have the opportunity to participate in CUJO, the Chicago area
Ultimate frisbee league. As of this writing the Pre-Season
Tournament is Sunday, March 15th with the first games starting at
9:30 sharp. Regular schedule is as follows: March 22nd (1), March
29th (2), April 5th (3), April 12th-No Games (Easter), April 19th
(4), April 26th (5), May 3rd (6), May 10-No Games (Mother's Day), and
May 17th Final Tournament There will be two games each Sunday
afternoon at Miller Wood (2199 S 1st Ave, Maywood, IL 60153),
starting at 1, 2:30, and 4 pm.

In order to participate, the league needs from us:
Roster
Waiver forms
Adult contact (that's Doc K)
$30 per player; checks made out to `Ultimate Chicago'. This
will not only get us games, but swag too (shirts and discs).

In order to have a team, ETHS needs from us:
Roster
Athletic permit card signed by a physician. This must be
turned into the athletic office. When you do so, you will receive a
pink slip, which you will give to me. If you participate in another
sport, you can get an additional pink slip to give to me. You will
not be on the roster without giving me a pink slip.
Extracurricular activity code form signed.
You must meet academic eligibility requirements.

Before March 15, I need from you:
Pink slips
Extracurricular activity forms signed
Waiver forms signed
Check for $30 made out to `Ultimate Chicago'

If you've not already done so, join EvUl at groups.yahoo.com. It's
the most convenient method for us all to communicate.

Start getting in shape: run, play catch, work on your throws
focusing on short (less than 10 yds), accurate throws. During
season, we can have one practice per week for drills and fitness
which I will participate in. Any other time you can get out to run
and throw, do so.

I will look into getting a van from the school for transportation.

We could try to sell frisbees as a fundraiser.

I can probably get a small gym for practice, beginning in late March
(maybe too late). We should practice once a week as a team.
Wednesday would be best for me, beginning March 4, weather allowing,
at Mason park after school.
