sounds good, anybody have any preferences for the days we practice or when we should start up (I was thinking perhaps the second week of school)? Also, Team ILL, a competitive youth club team from the Chicago area that I happen to captain is having tryouts on September 23 at 12:30 at Schiller Park/Schiller Woods (corner of N cumberland and W Irving Park). This team practices in the fall and spring. It is more competitive than ETHS's team, but there are some players on our team that I think could make Team ILL, and I think everybody should show up. If you need a ride or can't make it that day let me know. Last year we went to Denver, Madison, and St. Louis to play. So while we are having a more laid back pick-up/practice at ETHS this fall, if you want to play more competitively you should try out.

Whether you're right about it or not, I don't think having more people in the spring is worth not playing at all as a team in the fall. I think we should still have ultimate in the fall, but when we try and recruit people with flyers and announcements, we call it something like fall 'intermurals' or something that shows that it's not in season. Furthermore, I think there should be a difference in how we practice between fall practices and in-season practices. Like fall practices would be more like easy pickup games and spring practices would have more drills and stuff like that. I think this might make EvUl sound like less of a club and more like a sport, possibly opening up to more people who want to join.

soon. I have a question that I would like everyone's opinion on. The
last three years (as long as I've played at ETHS) I have noticed that
we get a good turn out in the fall, but when it comes to spring very
few players return. I am pondering the question that if we start in
the spring, will we get better numbers? I know, some people will say
that there are spring sports that take away people, but fall sports
take away people as well. I would love to have people play in the fall
and spring, but when we have no games in the fall, some people get
discouraged and don't show up when spring comes. Right now I am open
to suggestions and what everyone has to say. Remember, if we don't
have ultimate in the fall, you can still play pick-up (which I find is
better for improving). The pick-up site is
http://sports. groups.yahoo. com/group/ evanston- ultimate/ and right now
they are playing at Deering Field (Sheridan and Foster in Evanston) on
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm. Come out and
play, it's a lot of fun.
