As far as I know, the 11 AM Saturday game is the only one that is active
currently.

Subject: [EugeneUltimate] Thrice-weekly pickup games
I looked on the calendar section and saw pickup games every Tuesday,
Thursday, and Saturday. Does anyone go to these?
I went down to Roosevelt today looking for a game, and I was bummed
because no one showed. Was that just because of the rain, or does no
one actually go to these?

I'm new to the area and I really want to play some pickup but I can't
find Roosevelt middle school anywhere in the phonebook. Can someone
get me the address?

I strongly encourage everyone not going to potlatch to go to pickup tomorrow
at 11:30 at Roosevelt. There have been some sweet pickup games there the
past few weeks, so I'm hoping that we can continue the tradition through the
summer when most of the college guys aren't here anymore. See you there!

My girlfriend and I are moving to Eugene in August. If anyone has a
large 1 BR or 2 BR place for rent around the university, let me know.
I've been active in the Fayetteville, AR ultimate community for the
past few years and am excited to play with ya'll, Thanks. -Casey
Hey does anyone need a spot in a car going up to
Potlach? I have three spots available for anyone who
wants to pitch in for gas. Let me know,

I left my bike at the Amazon/Roosevelt fields on saturday. It is a
silverish girl's mountain bike hopefully with a combination chain lock
attached. If you've seen it/have it, please let me know.

Hey!
A gals team from Seattle is coming to Solstice and they are bringing 8
gals. If I do my math right that leaves them... 1 sub!!!
No need to be an experienced player, they just need girls and women with
a bit of experience, a good set of lungs and the love of the game.
Please email Frank at youth.coordinator@... if you are able to
play this weekend. (You can call him too at 206-390-2367) You don't
need to commit to the whole weekend. They are desperate, please help!
Thanks!
Lee
Thanks to everybody who stepped up to house incoming players for this
weekend's Summer Solstice tourney, and all those who offered, as well.
We're putting up about 90 folks -- and most important, we found a roof for
everybody who wanted one. That's great, thanks for keeping the tourney's
tradition going as one of the coolest -- and welcoming-ist -- in the
Northwest and the universe.
Now let's play some freaking Frisbee!
Matt
Eugene-
A team dropped from the coed portion of our tourney this weekend,
leaving us with 11 teams which is a really tough format. Our best bet
is to try to replace that team with one from here, but we need to know
if it's feasible soon. We don't think guys are a problem, but there may
be a shortage of ladies. If any ladies are available to play please say
so to the list and hopefully we can get a team working asap.
The Darkstar Alliance
Can locations for each bracket be announced before Saturday?
It would be kind of silly to have all the players on all teams go all the
way up to Monroe middle school if they are playing at amazon park or south
bank. Its especially troublesome for those of us who get around on bikes.
Maybe this info has already gone out but i missed it. If that's the case
then i apologize
Peace

Having been inspired by Ted's example on behalf of Sarah, are there any
other ladies out there who are looking for a team on the co-ed side of
things? We're fun, we're the Roots (partly) and. . . we're fun. And I'll
buy you a drink of your choice at the party (or before). Let me know.

I know you were all too distracted by the idea of a Human Scavenger Hunt
to catch my little error, but according to the score reporter and all
the people that weren't too distracted by the idea of a Human Scavenger
Hunt to catch my little error:
Rex games are scheduled to start at 10:45AM.
I'll try to nail down which sprawling field complex the Rex games will
be held on so as to facilitate folks driving down Saturday morning.
That said, if you DO drive down early Saturday morning, you'll miss the
Solstice/Rex Meet 'N Greet/Hobnob/Social Scene at the 19th Street
McMenamins Pub. It's newly remodeled and has lots of nice new things,
so it's not your daddy's typical McMenamins. SW corner of 19th and
Agate Street, near the SE corner of the UO campus.

Howdy folks. Here it is, the official Oregon Rex captains email!
Oregon Rex Captain’s Info!
Please pass this information on to your teammates.
FUN STUFF!!!!!!!!!
This year for Oregon Rex we have nominated, voted, and elected in a
unanimous victory, DYLAN DARLING FUN CZAR!!!! Dylan, former Uoregon
baller currently of the Redding Red Hots, is in charge of making sure
that there's plenty of fun all around. While this would normally just
involve his presence, he and an elite cadre of elite-ish folks have been
working feverishly to facilitate extra fun during Oregon Rex. As such,
we're implementing a few rules and games:
1. Crazy-rule point to determine pull: Captains agree beforehand on a
crazy-rule modification to make to the rules of ultimate and play a
point to determine who wins The Flip. Ideas are:
The Standards: only score on hucks, only upside-down, off-hand
More Creative: hacks only (everybody touches the disc exactly once per
possession), strip ultimate, foreign language stalls (can't repeat a
language), etc.
The Insane: <your idea here>
If you're going to argue about who wins The Flip on the crazy point,
you've already lost it.
2. Human Scavenger Hunt! That's all I'm going to say right now so as to
avoid any collusion, but let it be said that first prize will be choice
of a Lebowski or Zoolander DVD. Second prize will be not a choice of
Lebowski or Zoolander DVD.
BORING ULTIMATE STUFF:
Games start at 9 am (sharp) on Saturday.
Captain’s meeting at 8am (sharp) at Frisbee Central at Ascot Park, also
known as Monroe Middle School (off Coburg Road and on Bailey Lane).

Good morning
I'm looking for another hand or two to help move some of the soccer goals out of
the way this Friday evening in preparation for tourney play on Saturday. Easy
way to help out a bit, get a little dog walking in and enjoy the sunny evening.
Going to Ascott first at 6pm, then back over to Roosevelt. Let me know if you'd
like to help, should be quick and painless. Thanks,
Jared

Hey all, promise I won't bug you anymore about housing for Solstice --
We're probably going to have to say no to about 30 folks -- younger players
coming with parents, mostly. I'd love to see us house everybody who asks for
it, but maybe that's not possible. Anyway, if you can help out you know
where to find me.
thanks,
Matt
hey all,
Since Solstice is bigger and better this year with more fields and teams, we
need more cones!
Anyone out there have extra cones we could use for the tourney this weekend?
I'll make sure they are safely returned to you!
Please let me know ASAP if you have some cones you'd be willing to share!
Thanks!
-Enrique

Hey all --
Still about 40 players and parents who need housing for this weekend's
Summer Solstice tournament, and that could grow. Thanks to all who have come
forwarded, you'll be matched up soon if not already.
If you have ANY room at all, please let me know. Let's keep our reputation
as not just the coolest tourney in the NW, but the most hospitable!
thanks,
Matt
p.s. Somebody hit me up with a cool memory from a Solstice past. I'm fresh
out.
Hey Folks,
Sorry for the non-ultimate post (though she is a frisbee dog!). My old dog
Ellie, who some of you probably remember, is in need of a new and permanent
home. She's in Chicago right now, and as much as I want to take her, I
cannot give her the kind of home she needs. She requires a lot of time and
exercise, and loving caretakers. If you or someone you know loves dogs, has
a home with space to run, and might want to bring Ellie into their family,
please let me know. ( You can see some pictures here:
http://eugene.craigslist.org/pet/353825092.html )
Thanks!

Hey folks -- we've still about 30 incoming players/parents looking for room
and board for the tournament. Please help out, if you've got any room at
all. Our hospitality is an important part of continuing the Solstice
reputation as one of the marquee tournaments in the NW.
Thanks much to those who have stepped up, you'll be matched up soon if not
already.
