The Eugene Ultimate Group held an injury-free meeting Monday night, here's a
recap:
1. Solstice Tournament: Our annual bash turns 30 this year, June 20-21 here in
shimmering Eugene.
A couple key jobs we need to fill -- tournament director-in-training and
paperwork coordinator. This tournament lives and dies on the strength of
volunteer support, so please consider taking on some more responsibility.
Taryn "Action" Jackson has volunteered to handle merchandise, including the
annual disc design contest (details coming).
Nina "No Prisoners" Herbst will be Party Czar, and will even try to find
something fun for the young 'uns who play the tourney.
2. Jared "Wayward" Weybright is making inroads for youth Ultimate with outreach
to local schools. The goal there, basically, is to see what the EUG can do to
help those programs flourish.
3. Taryn "Distraction" Jackson and Nina "Neener" Herbst are kicking around a
possible women's clinic this spring. Please respond if you're interested or can
help.
4. Joe "Million" Millon and Ryann "Countdown" Crowley are double-teaming an
improved Website and tournament page, with more details in the coming months.
As always, we welcome your feedback -- up to and including this invitation right
here to join the EUG!
may the force be with you,
Matt "No Nickname" Cooper, Solstice tournament director
