Howdy howdy!

I'm pleased to announce to the Eugene ultimate community the 2007 Eugene
Summer Solstice Disc Design Contest! We (the Solstice preliminary
planning committee) think that one of the best parts about Solstice is
our awesome disc designs, and we want that trend to continue. So, we're
announcing a public contest to make the designs for this year's
tournament. The winner of the contest get's $50 and a set of discs with
their winning design. Please encourage members of the community to
participate, we hope that this will be a fun and creative way to
participate in the Solstice tournament!

Here are the vitals:
1. Design a disc with a summer solstice theme for a discraft 175g
hot-stamp process, no more than 3 colors. Instructions from Discraft on
filetypes and hints for the art can be found here:

2. It must have the year (2007) and "Eugene Summer Solstice" on it. Feel
free to sign it, or put your initials on it or whatever. It also has to
have some form of "Eugene, Oregon" on it.
3. Entries must be received by me (ahalvers at uoregon dot edu) by April
1 at the latest, early submissions welcomed.
4. This will likely end up being the shirt design, so keep that in mind
when designing.

As an added bonus, we have put up a website with pictures of the discs
from the tournament from the LAST 26 YEARS! We hope this will provide
some inspiration and some resources for the themes that have been so
successful. In addition, there are some UO discs from the past and
present, and a few others that might bring back some memories. Also, if
you happen to have a disc that's not on there, get in touch with me so
we can fill in the gaps. Thanks to Joe and Becky Millon for collecting
