CANCELLED: SEHS SCRIMMAGE, reschedule under the lights?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1259 of 1933 |
Folks-

Unfortunately there was not enough response to merit having the
scrimmage. Only 4 boys and 2 girls responded, which isn't enough for a
game.

I imagine that the difficult factor for most folks was the timing. With
it getting dark so early and the Amazon fields without lights, the
intersection of daylight and people's work schedules was likely too small.

My inclination now is to reschedule for later in the evening under the
lights, and possibly expand it to Eugene vs South and Eugene vs
Churchill or Sheldon or somebody. The point here is *community support
of the juniors scene*.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN:
Email me if you're interested in a later-starting game under lights on a
rented turf field. We need to reach a critical mass of willing folks
before we can commit to renting fields. I'm thinking 10 boys, 6 girls.
I know you're out there, league is over with, and the club season is
finished. Let me know and we'll get 'er done.

H

PS: Late January/early February, men's scrimmage against The Ducks!
Every year we typically put together a strong team consisting of local
men to put the Ducks through their paces before their first major
tournament, which is President's Day! Just wanted to get that in
people's headspace early.
