AS POSTED ON USLMRA YAHOO GROUP SITE
It has come to the attention of the Tech Team and All Staff that
racers in the governed classes, IMOW and STOCK, that in an effort to
get that all elusive extra top end speed, racers are over inflating
their tires. There has been several explosions that have generated
real concern of the safety of not only the racers but anyone in the
general vacinity of the explosions. There has been one such explosion
that sent parts of the mower completely thru the roof of the shop it
was in. These type accidents has brought the Tech team and The US
staff in a mutual agreement that regardless of brand tire or what the
maximum sidewall pressure is on the side of a tire, that all governed
classes starting in Mendota Ill. june 11th 2005, will run a MAXIMUM
OF 15 PSI in all tires front or rear. This is a simple fix of simply
letting air out of your tires. In doing so recheck your sidewall
widths on your mower. This will fatten the tire a bit as it will have
less pressure. This is a safety situation that we feel must be
addressed before some one gets hurt. We also recommend that all LC's
running a JR/KID STOCK and or SUPER STOCK/JR PREPARED follow the same
recomendations. This is per Ken Jones and the rest of the TECH TEAM
and STAFF.
