Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil beat out riders from fifteen nations to win the $1 million Nortel International at the Spruce Meadows Masters 2001 in Calgary, Alberta on September 9. Pessoa won the final DuMaurier International in 2000 and had said he would love to win the inaugural Nortel International.

MAC CONE TAKES CANADA CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
Mac Cone (King City, Ont.) won the Canada Cup Championship after the final phase of competition, the AMJ Campbell Grand Prix, at the fourth annual Tournament of Champions at York Equestrian Centre.
