Meet at Don and Gloria's at 3728 Alf Avenue, Eau Claire. We are on
the corner of East Hamilton and Cypress, just across from the new
underpass that goes to Robbins School. If you take East Hamilton to
the Mall, our driveway is just before the stop lights on East
Hamilton and Cypress. If you miss our driveway, turn right at the
light and veer right onto Alf Avenue. We are the first driveway on
the right. The black mailbox is in a wooden basket filled with
colorful fall leaves. Our driveway on Alf consists of two long rows
of cement blocks, but, yes, it is a driveway. Feel free to use it,
but park on the lawn so others can get through. Call 831-6210 if you
need better directions.
The walk will start at 6 p.m., and we will walk about four miles,
which should take us a little over an hour.
I will serve soup at the end of the walk. Carol has offered to bring
cookies.
Last Thursday we had 7 walkers. Larry led us on a wonderful walk on
the bike trail and served us all a terrific "beet soup with
meatballs" when we were through. It took us about an hour and 20
minutes to do the walk, but only a short time to realize how good the
soup was. Larry's recipe was from an ethnic cookbook. Surprisingly,
the soup came from the Polish section. Delicious! And he also
served us bread from Great Harvest, and Eleanor provided wine. Thank
you Larry. You went above and beyond expectations.
Hope to see you all on Thursday.
Gloria
