Doug and Sharon will lead us on the back roads in the Town of
Brunswick, leaving and returning on the Chippewa River Trail. Meet at
the parking lot about 1(?)mile down the trail from the Ranger
Building on Short Street. If you are unfamiliar with this parking
area: Take HWY 37 south from Short Street about 1/8 (?) mile and turn
right. This should be Jopke Road but I'm not sure if it is marked.
Follow road to Chippewa River bottom where signs direct you to
American Materials or parking lot. Please correct me on this if I am
wrong - Don, Bill, etc.
Last night, September 6th, we had a fast and furious group of riders
cover a distance of 22 miles. The fact that we had good roads, only
one long climb past the Moose Lodge with the remainder of the ride
flat or down hill and a nice tail wind really made a difference.
Once we hit the Chippewa River Trail at Caryville everyone was
anxious to get back before dark and be first in line at the DQ for
treats. Once we reached the DQ we encountered a very BIG birthday
party or a group of UW students with no place to go. Everyone
decided to call it a night rather than stand in line.
Linda rode the trail portion with us - the first time out with the
group since back surgury. Chris Wilbur, a new member joined Linda.
Welcome Chris.
