This was a great ride out of Judson College in Marion. Three Auburn
folks that I know of did the ride, Paula, Carmen, and myself. Carmen
did 30, Paula and I did the 70 which turned out to be 65. The weather
was perfect, the rest stops were fully stocked and usually at an
interesting building with rest rooms. We rode through historic towns
esp. Greensborough, a manufacturing center before the Civil War.
The scenery was fabulous and there was very little traffic. We thought
the ride would be flat but there were interesting rolling hills and
even a few more challenging climbs. At least for me. Paula did most of
the ride in the big ring.
We showered in the gym and then sat down to a bountiful lunch in the
college dining room.
It was a lovely event, which I highly recommend for next year. A.
