The cycling community is mobilizing in light of the recent collisions between
cars and bicycles. Another apparently occurred yesterday on Samford.
Members of the Bike Committee want cyclists throughout the community to come to
the next meeting next Tuesday, 25 August, at 7p at the Development Services
Building, 171 North Ross Street in the Conference Room (next to the Police
Station in the former Library building).
We want to discuss enacting a three-foot law requiring that passing distance for
cars. There are other ideas that people have to make cycling safer in our areas.
I'm worried about the increase in the amount and speed of traffic on Shelton
Mill Road with the new development. You'll have other points to raise. There
will also be updates on accidents.

Please make every effort to attend.
