A bicyclist has been transported to East Alabama Medical center for treatment of
non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Auburn Police and Fire Division officials and the Auburn City Schools
Transportation Director are investigating the circumstances that sent a 21-year
old female bicyclist to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries Tuesday.
“The bicyclist was riding southbound on North Donahue Drive near the Camden
Ridge Subdivision,” said Auburn Police Division Capt. Tom Stofer. “An Auburn
City School bus was dropping off students along the road.”
As the bus passed the bicyclist, she lost her balance and fell, according to
Stofer.
The bicyclist was transported to East Alabama Medical Center for treatment of
non-life threatening injuries, Stofer said.
A portion of North Donahue Drive was shut down for about 15 minutes as emergency
response personnel cleared the accident scene Tuesday afternoon, according to
Stofer.
