There were some big rides this weekend, 3 State 3 Mountain in
Chattanooga and the Cheaha Challenge near Anniston. I did Cheaha for
the first time riding with Mike who had done it twice before. There
were lots of Auburn folks there including the Smalley group with
David, Deb, Jen, and Vik; Grant from Golden's rode with David from
Opelika. We all did the full century.
The weather was perfect; the rest stops were stocked and friendly. We
spent a lot of time there especially on the way back. I did 101 miles
in just under 7 hours, averaging 14.5 mph. Last year Mike did it in
under 6 hours. I'll do better next year.
Did anyone do the 3 State 3 Mountain ride? Any other rides or races?
Post your info here.
Next Saturday is the L.A.P. Century Ride in Lula, Ga., to benefit the
ministries of the Lula Assembly of Praise Church. I did this ride in
2005. There are two really hard climbs - harder than Cheaha - but
otherwise it's rolling hills. The after ride meal is the very best of
any ride I have ever done. The ride poster is in our Files link to
the left. But just in case, here's their website:
