NEXT MEETING 12 November 2009
Eat to Ride: Nutrition for Cyclists and TriathletesAnn Johnson is a triathlete, registered dietation, and AU PhD candidate. She'll talk to us about how we can structure our diets to optimize our performance from commuting to centuries and endurance races. A powerpoint presentation will illustrate her talk. Ann comes to us via Carol Dillard, a friend of Bill Felkey. Thanks to Bill for making the recommendation.
The East Alabama Cycling Club is for riders of all types and abilities. The club meets at 7p on the second Thursday of the month at the Health Resource Center, 2027 Pepperell Parkway, in Opelika, across from East Alabama Medical Center.
EACC started in the spring of 2003 to promote cycling and to push for a Rails-to-Trails restoration of the old railbed, which carried the Johnny Ray train between Opelika, Lafayette, and Roanoke in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The club century, held annually on the last Saturday of September, commemorates the train and its engineer.
