If anyone else wants to complain about that light at Roberts and Northridge
never turning green, email addresses are below. Sandy Springs' phone number for
this type of thing is (770) 730-5600.

Hello AJC's Take To Task,
I have tried repeatedly to get Sandy Springs to fix the magnetic loop sensor
(traffic sensor) at Northridge Road at Roberts Drive, west bound. I have not yet
been successful. This is at the on-ramp north-bound onto GA-400. These sensors
are supposed to detect bicycles. I'm sure I'll get a ticket if I get caught
running the light. But what am I to do if the light will not change?
I can drive over the sensor multiple times and still sit through cycle after
cycle of the light never turning green for west bound traffic. The sensor works
for cars only.
Could you assist with this?
Appreciatively,
Andrew

Subject: Light never turns green -- have to run it
Dear Ms. Parham:
There is a red-light in Sandy Springs that I have to run through every time I
come to it. It never turns green for me. Most likely, the traffic sensor loop is
not sensitive enough. The intersection is on Northridge Road at Roberts Drive,
west bound. I have reported this to Sandy Springs 24x7 call center at least 3
times over the last two years.
The rest of the story is that my vehicle is a bicycle. Many cyclists use this
route and they all run this light. This is a very dangerous situation.
The light will turn green for west bound traffic only if an automobile is also
travelling in that direction. The sensor loops at intersections are supposed to
pick up bicycles and most of them around the area do.
Any assistance you can lend would be greatly appreciated.
Cordially,
Andrew
