The Drill Master and Judge Clinic is open to all organizations,
associations, councils, individuals, clubs and we encourage 4H to
continue their participation.

If you would like to serve on a national level in some capacity,
please let us know. Everyone has a talent that can be helpful. All
committees are up for renewal and review.

Written USEDA Committee reports and recommendations are due at the
National Meeting on October 18th.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION, Super Ride VII
JUNE 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 OF 2009

Permeant stalls deposits of $100 should be sent in right away if you
want them held. The balance must be paid by the due date or they will
be issued to others. All stalls will be sold out and temps will be
brought in at an increased price. There will be a slight increase on
stalls and entry fees for 2009. All of this information will be posted
by the end of December 2008. The Super Ride VII Competition has
increased each year and again, it will grow in 2009 adding a Senior
Division and a few other interesting performances. We are making
several changes to our schedule and adding the entertainment to Friday
night instead of Saturday. The USEDA All Star Team will perform on
Saturday evening following Competition right before awards are
presented. Award ceremony will be streamlined for time.

If you are a Coach or Drill Master of a youth rider and they will be
18 or less on January 1st of 2009, you can recommend them for the 2009
USEDA All Star Team. This team will receive the drill prior to arrival
and will practice for the Saturday evening performance on a limited
basis on selected preceding days. Your team must be a USEDA member to
participate in the All Star Team Program. Contact us for the All Star

Super Ride VII will have more teams than ever. I have been contacted by
several more (new to Super Ride) teams and their deposits are in the
mail.
We have received deposits reserving stalls and hookups from a lot of
the returning teams. If you want to assure stalls in the main barns,
you should mail in your deposits ASAP and pay by the due dates on the
form or they will be given to the next team in line that has paid in
full. Temp stalls will be much more expensive this year.

In the meantime I am sure you will not mind if we send our IDAHO
ALERT for Max to your group. We appreciate all the help we can get in
helping 13 year old Kaitlynn find her horse Max.

Please encourage your members to send the IDAHO ALERT to all the
people, list groups and associations they can think of no matter
where in the US they are located. By now Max, could be anywhere in
the USA or Canada, maybe even in someone's barn by now.

Hi Linda,
How was the competition?  I'm not riding this year and was hoping to
go down & help out with judging...but Jen told me she hadn't heard
anything about there even being a competition?!  I hope that Wayne
has the results posted tomorrow as planned.  Also, if anyone knows
how the Door County competition went....please post that info too.  I
tried going on line to find maybe news coverage...but nothing.

The 2009 Super Ride VII competition will grow again as the feedback we
are getting shows 8 to 12 more teams competing. Stalls in the
perminate barn can be reserved with a $100 nonrefundable deposit. All

Hi Julie,
I really miss the drill world and all of you guys!!!  Been busy making
my transition into the RN role (not an easy task as Pat & Carol can
attest to) and with travelling two hours each day, it feels like I'm
either working, sleeping, driving, or filling up at a gas station!  But
the job is truly a dream job with practically unheard of
compensation/benefits for a new nurse...so despite the inconveinence
and horrible work hours/days...I really have to hang onto this job
(especially since Lonny has lost his job at GM).  Besides, there is
always hope to get day or night shift hours eventually and my two weeks
of vacation time is just around the corner (Sept. 17th).
I've already put in to have Labor day off so I can be at the Walworth
county fair.  Doubt very much that I'll be riding though...because I
haven't been able to make any drill practices yet this year.  Recently
I've been able to arrange my work schedule so I can have every
Wednesday night off to attend drill practice...but the KMRR EZ riders
practice has been on Tuesday nights! So unless somebody by chance needs
a last minute fill in rider, I'll be at the Walworth County Fair as a
spectator or maybe judge if they are in need of one?

USEDA Judges Carol McCoy and Karen McKee were a big hit at the 2008 KY
4H Drill Competition. The KY 4H program is the first State 4H program
to use USEDA rules and Scoresheets and have agreed to use Currently
Carded USEDA Judges each year. The KY 4H Program Officials stated that
this was the best competition ever.
Way to go Judges!!
