A stolen horse could be a long distance in a short time period. Please pass this to your associations, list groups, council members, friends and ask them to do the same. If you put information on your website please link the info to NetPosse.com. SHI will be updating information and has the only flyer ready to print and post for those who want to help. The Internet is great for spreading the word but success stories show that most horse are found from a flyer. Thank you very much for your generosity in helping these victims. -- Debi Metcalfe , President--Stolen Horse International.

Thank you to those of you that responded
to this email. The horses are on 3 foster farms at this time and I was
given some incorrect information. The owner is going to try to get
settled in a new place (she is at a friends place right now, but with no
fencing for the horses) and wants to take the horses back when she can.
At this point, she does not want to sell any of the horses and HARPS did not
step in to take them. In fact, HARPS is not involved any more. The
horses are in good condition and were not in any danger of going hungry. If
anything changes, I will put the interested parties directly in touch with the
owner.
All is well.

I take that back partially. The DVD was

Just a note on those Superride DVDs.
Mine was very poorly packed and is all scratched up. I had expected it to
be in a hard plastic cover and for it to be sent in a bubble envelope to
protect it. Instead, it was in a paper sleeve and stuck in a plain
manilla envelope. I have not watched the whole thing yet, so don’t
know if it has damage. I have bought drill DVDs before from other events
and they were in hard plastic cases and sent in bubble envelopes.
The cost was the same or less.

Hi Jan,
I got the DVD and the note today. I want to thank you so much for following
through with it, in spite of the apparent issues that have come up. I'm so
sorry that there are health problems and that you won't be doing the Drill
Championship. I hope that things go well and that in the future you will be
back to it.
You said that you wanted to let us know so we could clear our calendar.
Does that mean that there won't be an Iowa Championship this year? No one
else is taking it over? Just making sure that I understood correctly. Have
the other teams been notified? My older daughter is on the Midwest
Renegades, so I'm sure that they want to know soon.
Thanks again for all you did,

THE STAMP; Please read the following story and follow the instructions at the end! Thank You . Like most elementary schools, it was typical to have a parade of students in and out of the health clinic throughout the day. We dispensed ice for bumps and bruises, Band-Aids for cuts, and liberal doses of sympathy and hugs. As principal, my office was right next door to the clinic, so I often dropped in to lend a hand and help out with the hugs. I knew that for some kids, mine might be the only one they got all day. One morning I was putting a Band-Aid on a little girl's scraped knee. Her blonde hair was matted, and I noticed that she wa s shivering in her thin little sleeveless blouse. I found her a warm sweatshirt and helped her pull it on. "Thanks for taking care of me," she whispered as she climbed into my lap and snuggled up against me. It wasn't long after that when I ran across an unfamiliar lump under my arm. Cancer, an aggressively spreading kind, had already invaded thirteen of my lymph nodes. I pondered whether or not to tell the students about my diagnosis. The word breast seemed so hard to say out loud to them, and the word cancer seemed so frightening. When it became evident that the children were going to find out one way or another, either the straight scoop from me or possibly a garbled version from someone else, I decided to tell them myself. It wasn't easy to get the words out, but the empathy and concern I saw in their faces as I explained it to them told me I had made the right decision. When I gave them a chance to ask questions, they mostly wanted to know how they could help. I told them that what I would like best would be their letters, pictures and prayers. I stood by the gym door as the children solemnly filed out. My little blonde friend darted out of line and threw herself into my arms. Then she stepped back to look up into my face. "Don't be afraid, Dr. Perry," she said earnestly, "I know you'll be back because now it's our turn to take care of you." No one could have ever done a better job. The kids sent me off to my first chemotherapy session with a hilarious book of nausea remedies that they had written. A video of every class in the school singing get-well songs accompanied me to the next chemotherapy appointment. By the third visit, the nurses were waiting at the door to find out what I would bring next. It was a delicate music box that played "I Will Always Love You." Even when I went into isolation at the hospital for a bone marrow transplant, the letters and pictures kept coming until they covered every wall of my room. Then the kids traced their hands onto colored paper, cut them out and glued them together to make a freestanding rainbow of helping hands. "I feel like I've stepped into Disneyland every time I walk into this room," my doctor laughed. That was even before the six-foot apple blossom tree arrived adorned with messages written on paper apples from the students and teachers. What healing comfort I found in being surrounded by these tokens of their caring. At long last I was well enough to return to work. As I headed up the road to the school, I was suddenly overcome by doubts. What if the kids have forgotten all about me? I wondered, What if they don't want a skinny bald principal? What if. I caught sight of the school marquee as I rounded the bend. "Welcome Back, Dr. Perry," it read. As I drew closer, everywhere I looked were pink ribbons - ribbons in the windows, tied on the doorknobs, even up in the trees. The children and staff wore pink ribbons, too. My blonde buddy was first in line to greet me. "You're back, Dr. Perry, you're back!" she called. "See, I told you we'd take care of you!" As I hugged her tight, in the back of my mind I faintly heard my music box playing "I will always love you." Subject: Breast Cancer Stamp Booklet We need those of you who are great at forwarding on information with your e-mail network. Please read and pass this on. It would be wonderful if 2007 were the year a cure for breast cancer was found!!!! This is one email you should be glad to pass on. The notion that we could raise $35 million by buying a book of stamps is powerful! As you may be aware, the US Postal Service recently released its new "Fund the Cure" stamp to help fund breast cancer research. The stamp was designed by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, Maryland. It is important that we take a stand against this disease that affects so many of our Mothers, Sisters and Friends. Instead of the normal 39 cents for a stamp, this one costs 40 cents The additional 1 cent will go to breast cancer research A "normal" book costs $7.8 0. This one is only $8.00. It takes a few minutes in line at the Post Office and means so much. If all stamps are sold, it will raise an additional $35,000,000 for this vital research. Just as important as the money is our support. What a statement it would make if the stamp outsold the lottery this week. What a statement it would make that we care. I urge you to do two things TODAY: 1. Go out and purchase some of these stamps. 2. E-mail your friends to do the same. Many of us know women and their families whose lives are turned upside-down by breast cancer. It takes so little to do so much in this drive. We can all afford the $0.2 0. Please help & pass it on.

I got this off a message board that I frequent, please pass this along :)
I just felt all those in the southeast need to be warned. A few of us in the Spartanburg and Greenville SC area received several calls from 352-553-7139 asking questions about our miniature horses. They wanted to come see ours and my husband told them they would have to come the next day. Well they showed up anyway. Lucky for us our neighbor asked them what they were doing since they showed up in a white F250 and Big White Ponderosa goose neck. They told her they were here to pick up 10 miniature horses she called my husband and found out no they were not. Their were three of them 2 Hispanic men and one woman who wore those big sunglasses so not to see her face. She made them leave and tried to get their tag but the man backed out my 1100 foot drive so she could not see it. We gave the police this info. Just wanted to share this so it would not happen to anyone else. Had it not been for our neighbor we would have lost our entire little herd.
Hee, hee, Lisa,
Doubt any of us new starters could knock anybodys socks off but we, in
good fun, would sure love to give it a go.
Our team will be meeting in the very near future to develop a plan for
07. We will be sure to post the events and dates available in this
part of the country, where we know the competition will be good and the
atmosphere fun.
Maybe you have seen some of the discussion on the various Drill sites.
There are a number of D/teams (not Gaited) in this part of the
country. We are trying, as a group to support and improve all aspects
of Equine Drill. Our goal is to someday conduct events using
sanctioned Judges, and be able to participate in the high point
programs offered by USEDA and others, attracting teams like yours. We
are in our infancy, working together, making progress and enjoying the
journey with the help of some wonderful folks like Debbie Dunphy and
others. Can't ask for more!
Four Square's attitude is we ride best we can at the time, have fun
with what ever happens. When we go home we try to fix what needs
fixin. The end result is, we never feel we are not challenged :-) and
that is what makes it fun.... Boredom not allowed!!! :-)
Love Kentucy,,,just a beautiful state with a wonderful horse ethic and
history.

Thank you, Pat,
for the invitation north! Although FINISIMO is out of Houston, Texas,
my home town is in Kentucky. So let me know as your local events are
scheduled and FINISIMO will consider the logistics!

Lisa and FINISIMO
Hi Lisa,
Our team, a TWH team, would love to take you up on your challenge
this year but we are not ready yet ;-)
One of the goals we have before us is to compete at the USEDC
Championships! Maybe by that time we will have a youth team, a quad
and an open team,,,,.... As you well know all this takes time.
Good luck to you and your team this year, wish we could be there....
On the other hand maybe your team would consider coming to some of
the competitions in IA or the No. IL, Southwestern WI region. You
sure are welcome! Pat, 4 Square Walking, WI

On behalf of FINISIMO, the 2006 USEDC Division IV (Gaited) Champion
and the only all Paso Fino youth equestrian drill team in the country
(of which we are aware), I would like to issue a challenge to all
other gaited drill teams. Come to the United States Equestrian Drill
Competition! Whether your team racks or rocks, whether you are trocha
or you trot, whether you ride Tennessee Walkers, Kentucky Mountain
Horses, or Missouri Foxtrotters, whether your horses are Brazilian
Marchadors, Peruvian Pasos, or even Paso Finos (like us), show us
what you can do!
We invite you to new heights of competition in drill and equitation.
We celebrate the versatility of the Gaited Horse at a venue that
includes all horses.
Please come to the United States Equestrian Drill Competition
Championships, Super Ride V. Teams from all states may apply.
Location of the event is: Myrtle Springs, Texas. June 7, 8, 9 of 2007
is the date.
See you there, I hope. (from Lisa VanVleet Lewis, FINISIMO Coach)
Thanks so much for posting and forwarding this information. To readers who don't know about the Walworth Co. Fair. It is the biggest and best of the Co. Fairs in WI. In addition to all of the typical Fair venues, this Fair has a full 5 days of horse shows which include a number of Breed shows such as a Nationally recognized Draft show and 3 days of harness racing. The Fair draws spectators from Chicago, Rockford, Madison WI and Milwaukee. Attendance adverages 50,000 people on the weekend and Labor Day. This is a wonderful opportunity to present the sport of Equine Drill to a large and varied audience.
> Walworth County Fair is hosting a Drill Team Competition over Labor > Day on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007

This is a huge fair, with lots of activity, food booths, and entertainment. The horse shows always draw huge crowds, of people that just love to watch horses. It's always a great time.
The proposed competition will be held in the Draft Horse Arena, which is very large and accessible, with lots of room to trailer in, camp, tie the horses to the trailer, or there may be stalls as well on the day of the event.
We need to get an idea of interested teams, all are welcome, and there will be divisions as soon as there is an idea of the types of teams involved,
For example, OPEN - NOVICE - DRIVING - GAITED - 4H, etc. and prize money will be determined at a later date as well. YOUTH TEAMS and BEGINNING teams, are welcome as well.
Right now, we would like to know if your teams can attend, and we can say that this will be a GREAT venue for exposing our Drill Teams, and showing all our hard work and dedication. Let us know as soon as you can.
Thanks!!
