The USEDA Clinics hit a home run using the new focused learning
program. Instructors were well prepared and subject matter was spot
on. Thanks to Sherry Hunter, Gail Williams and Dan Myers for their
untiring work over the past years, building upon the work they have
done made this a huge success.
Thanks to all for the great job.

Friday's Drill Master Clinic, Saturday's Judging Clinic, the Region 4
USEDA meeting and the National USEDA meeting gathered country wide
sampling of 36 registered participants from places like Louisianna,
Oklahoma, California, Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia.
The Drill Master Clinic was a great success led by veteran drill
masters Kelly Jayroe and Pam Bonner with a bonus arena session with
Matagorda County Thundering Hooves and Rolling Thunder coaches, Ray
Smithey and Gary Murphee. Another early morning on Saturday involved
instruction by Master Judge Bob Lorbeer as well as Barbara Knudsen,
Carol McCoy, Cindy Weathers and Lisa VanVleet Lewis. The registrants
now eagerly watch for feedback on the tests they took and the tapes
they made.
Meanwhile, the feedback I've heard about the clinics agrees with my
personal sentiment, that this has been the best clinic weekend ever.
This opinion was echoed by individuals who have been to every USEDA
clinic thus far as well as others who have never attended a USEDA
clinic but have attended many drill clinics nationally in the past.
The clinics were proclaimed to be the most informative, the most
organized, the most positive, the most learning focused, etc. The
clinics have evolved from original format established early in the
establishment of USEDA to this fresh, refined methodology. True
participant involvement in the learning process aided learning on
every level but avoided "getting off on tangents" or unconstructive
voicing of "old baggage."
The Region 4 met for 30 fast paced efficient moments and announced
its new website. Go to region4useda.com to check it out.
Additionally, it was determined the OKEDA's Red Dirt Ride would once
again be the official Region 4 competition in the summer of 09 in
Duncan, Oklahoma. The dates for this RED DIRT RIDE were set for July
24th and 25th.
To top off a weekend of learning and and a philosophy of "git 'er
done" after a taste of Texas meal, the USEDA met at the national
level, presided by Gary Bonner. We reviewed previous plans and
checked them off completed, like the All Star Youth team. Then we
stepped back and nodded and determined we would do it all again, this
next year, only and always, better than before.
