..."Also keep in mind that all these horses are Trail Horses that we
rent. That said, i think is what makes these kids great. They
are taught to ride every horse, and we all know every horse has
their own problems".
So you necessarily won't have the same horse to ride each week at
drill practice???.
Wow.. you guys could travel without horses and just borrow some when
you get to the competition! I would certainly lend you my
horse...just to see what you could get him to do! Of course he is
totally blind, but I bet he would trust you in an instant.
So are your riders and horses capable of filling any position in the
drill? Alot of times, I see teams assign positions and what not
based on rider ability and even more so...the horses' ability and
temperment (so and so does not get along with so and so, so we'll
switch positions to make it work).
Is it your youth? Or is it your extremely diciplined manner and
leadership structure that allows you to be so accomplished to get so
much out of strange and unfamiliar horses? Or do you have a horse
trainer on hand to work with the horses and riders? Maybe it's
something in the California water...didn't the Latigo and Lace team
go to Texas...borrow horses and win a championship on borrowed
horses????
I'm so jealous and in awe of your team's talents!
