We have a Drillmaster that has grown through the program. He has been in for 28 years or so. Most of the new maneuvers come from the kids. They have great imaginations. There are a few other officers that look at it an see how to make it work and look good. As for the senior team that drill was written in a day and they had about 4 practice rides before the competition. Our next competition in at the Burbank Equestrian Center at the end of this month.
Also keep in mind that all these horses are Trail Horses that we rent. That said, i think is what makes these kids great. They are taught to ride every horse, and we all know every horse has their own problems.
Our program has been around since 1944 so we have a lot of experience in drills.

Justin,
Curious as to who writes your drills? What kind of
background/experience do they have (ie horse person,
mathmetician...ect..).
Does that same person write all the drills for the Senior and Eagles?
I guess what I admire most is the geometric flow of the
maneuvers...like a kleidoscope.
