Re: [DisciplesOfDirt] Mountain Bike Fork Question--Please Help!

I've seen a couple of guys put about an inch of a grip (like Chris said) on  Boxxer stanchions but they are what 32 mm and the 888 are 35mm.  Grips are made for 25.4mm diameter.  The guy I spoke with had used an Oury grip and lube (T-9, KY, who knows) and said a few curse words but made it happen.  He just cut out a strip (the width of the squares on those grips) and it worked great.

Other than that you can call Marz and order up some bumpers.  I don't think I would bother with going through a shop unless Marz made you.  I doubt they are on their website but you never know.  I'd try the Oury grip thing.  They are super stretchy plus they come in all sorts of colors!  Oooh, Trailhead cycles in the Portland area is basically a DH/FR store so they may be able to hook you up.  Look up their number if the Oury thing doesn't work.

Good luck.

I just bought a marzocchi 888 triple clamp fork and it is hitting my

looked for those rubber bumpers I've seen, but can't find them. Does
anyone know what they are actually called or where I can get them.
Thanks, Curtis Johnson.

You don't need special bumpers. Just take an old pair of grips and cut one in half, or cut a single grip and trim whatever extra you don't need depending on...
