Have you noticed how professional bodybuilders no longer have to "starve"
themselves to stay lean? Unlike the old days where a cutting cycle required a
big muscle loss to also lose fat and get lean, today's weight lifters can
control fat gain during muscle building and reduce muscle loss during the cut
cycle. This is how.
Back in the early days of bodybuilding as a competition neared, the lifters
would put themselves on ever shrinking calorie diets in an attempt to reduce
their body fat. As a result of such a low calorie intake, it was impossible to
maintain an energy level required to train as intensely for as long as they did
during their muscle building, big calorie cycle. So muscle loss was inevitable.
Of course during this muscle building period to ingest the necessary amount of
protein required by their bodies to take advantage of their intense training
sessions, the calorie content would have to be so high that fat gain was
unavoidable. So in essence it was 3 steps forward, then 2 steps back, over and
over. My how things have changed.
Today's serious lifters are able to limit their fat gain during the muscle
building times and can drastically cut muscle loss during the pre-competition
cutting time. How do they do this?
The 2 biggest contributing factors are first, a much better understanding as to
how the body processes the food it takes in. Today's lifters actually need more
protein than their predecessors because they are so much larger now. We now know
that the body can only process and use a certain amount of protein in any given
time interval. Therefore the gluttonous meals of the past have been replaced by
smaller, more frequent meals. This spreads the protein consumption out better so
less is wasted.
The second major factor is that the weight lifting supplements available today
are more highly refined than yesteryear. The protein supplements that most of
the big fella's take now are virtually all protein. Which means they are able to
eat carbs and fats like anybody else would at meal time, and at the end of the
day have gotten their required protein, eaten well and stayed low in total
calories. Plus these supplements are ideal for the ability to spread out the
intake. Keeping your calorie intake below your threshold is what allows muscle
to be gained and limiting fat stores.

To start muscle building without the artificial garbage, you first need to set
yourself an aim and goal. Prepare yourself to be in the perfect mindset when
doing this, as this will help you be more determined and maybe get done more.
After that you will first start with thinking about ways to start muscle
building. Of course there are many ways to build your muscles, but what is
suggest is that you choose maybe two or three different ways and utilise those
to its max.
The second stage is to choose the routine that you will be using for your
workout. The routines depend on what you are willing to work on, biceps,
triceps, back muscles, shoulder muscles, leg muscles etc. Now because there are
no tools involved in this, it is going to be straight forward. To start muscle
building, first start up with push-ups, and sit ups, maybe 5-10 a day. You are
probably thinking that is a few, but as matter of fact, it is good to start very
low as that will increase your endurance and strength. Do this continuous for 3
weeks. After the three weeks, because there are no tools involved, think about
running, and jogging. Throughout the jogging sprint every now and then. Once you
have finished with that continue with the sit ups and push ups.
These two combined methods of exercising will really start you off to muscle
building, and will be really effective when you are ready for the gym.

All of the hype and promises associated with "Muscle Building" going around in
the media these days is enough to confuse anyone looking for a reliable program
to achieve this. It seems that every man and his dog has some sort of program,
product, system or regime to address this matter, so this article isn't aimed at
boring you with more of that. The bare truth is if you don't work for something,
you don't succeed. It's as simple as that. Does the clich' "No Pain, No Gain"

Well, that's the bottom line. Many promises and attempts are made in the
marketing of "Muscle Building Programs/Products" promising to shortcut this
process, most of which is purely sales talk. In saying that, one has to also
admit that the process can be fine tuned to optimize results and there are also

achieving this.
However, the single most crucial ingredient, often conveniently not mentioned in
the marketing process, required to be present in any "Muscle Building Program"
can not be given or sold to you..."Discipline". Without "Self Discipline" you
can have the best program available to you and still fail hopelessly. Discipline
is "THE THING" that actually motivates and drives you to do "THE THINGS"
required to build muscle.
So before you go ahead and join any "Muscle Building Program", first examine
yourself with regard to "Self Discipline". Be sure to have a solid foundation of
discipline in place prior to joining any program. This way you will be sure to

There are numerous articles, websites, blogs, magazine columns and such like
that all give information and advice about the easiest ways to stimulate muscle
growth. So, if there are all these varied methods to stimulate muscle growth
then how come it is so such a difficult task for certain people? Well the answer
is partly in the question. With so much differing advice about, both on the net
and in bookstores, web sites and magazines, how on earth is someone new to
weight training supposed to make sense of it all?
The new bodybuilder really needs to merely have knowledge of the essential
basics in order to start growing therefore much of this information will be
irrelevant. So with that in mind here are three sure fire steps to help anyone
build muscle easily.
1) Train hard. Make use of the all time classic muscle mass building exercises
such as: deadlifts, rows, squats, bench presses and pull ups. These time proven
exercises will help you build muscle mass easily. Steer away from exercises that
isolate individual muscle groups, these are usually not designed for packing on
mass but more for carving definition and toning up. Get in the gym, workout
vigorously for 45 minutes, stay focused and then get out.
2) Pay attention to muscle building nutrition. For many years experienced
trainers have been quoted as saying that 80% of bodybuilding success is down to
correct muscle building nutrition. Even today this is still very true! As a rule
of thumb 50% of your food should be from carbohydrates, 30% from protein and the
rest made of fats to help build muscle easily.
The following foods are recommended, for carbohydrates: potatoes, rice, pasta,
brown breads. For protein: turkey, beef, chicken and fish especially tuna and
mackerel. the foods mentioned previously will give you adequate amounts of fats
for your needs. If you have the spare cash then it is good idea to try
supplementing your diet with the following: essential fatty acids,
multi-vitamins, creatine and whey protein.
3) Rest. Muscle recovers and grows whilst you are at rest so naturally you
should spend sufficient time allowing your body to grow. Many people new to
bodybuilding overtrain and do no give their body adequate time to rest and
recuperate. Training each body part twice a week will be more then enough for
most people.
OK, I said it was simple and it is. If you just stick to those basics you too
can build muscle easy. Although you can delve very deeply into all of these
subject areas in a nutshell that is all you need to know in order to grow. With
that in mind get out there, train hard, eat well and grow!
