A couple points to this thread:
Tom, when I was in Naperville last week, there was an article that said how MB
did not have a tight knit relationship with anyone in the locker room and that
people did not have his back. Most players did not say much, but AS made a
comment which basically said if he is not 100% for the team, we don't need him
here. Now Sorriano is whining that he was not notified beforehand by Lou that
he was sitting out the game.
AJ, I agree that a lot of players fatten up against us at Wrigley but Carlos Lee
is pretty consistent against most teams, and does not sttrike out that much for
a power hitter. Secondly, he is only signed to a reasonable 4yr deal.
Lastly, Charlie the deal's length is long but not unheard of as arod signed a 10
year deal and then midway through renegotiated. The issue is who we signed that
deal for and at what point in his career. Had we signed it 3 years prior and
were 6 years into it, then not as bad, but we are about a 1/3 of the way into it
and already have buyer's remorse.

the 9ers pay him the entire time he played at Philly. sometimes it is best to
cut losses... However who in their right mind signs someone to a 15 year
contract. Pro sports career's can end in a heartbeat.
