actually the more I think about it, its mostly on Dusty Baker. If he
taught the players and commanded them to play small ball, then they
wouldn't be swinging for the fences everytime up. Patterson used to
be stellar when he got on base using the bunt or just the soft lob
into right field. Then get a SB and work his way around the bases.
We were scorching hot then but now Patterson has struck out about 15
of his last 20 AB's trying to swing for the fences. Dusty has no
control of this team and its obvious.
