Important Changes to DTR, April 1, 2008   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #861 of 1495 |
Due to increased web site costs, and changes to park rules and fees,
DTR is going to implement the following changes.

New members will have to pay a one-time initiation fee of $100. In
addition, there will be a $10/year membership dues. These fees are
retroactive to the beginning of DTR, in 2000. Members joining before
2008 will have to pay the present value of all past dues, calculated
at LIBOR.

Runners who show up for a run for the first time, are required to buy
dinner for the run leader, and drinks for everyone else who goes to
dinner after the run. We realize that all of you can't make it to
dinner, so we will require you to leave a $100 deposit at the start of
the run.

Long time DTR runners will be required to read more than just the run
location in the weekly message. There will be a quiz before the start
of the run. There will be a $5 fine if you don't get the right answer.

In order to prevent complaints falsely filed against DTR, all runners
will be required to where the same shirt color on the runs. The shirt
colors are as follows:
1st Thursday of the month – blue
2nd Thursday – yellow
3rd Thursday – green
4th Thursday – red
5th Thursday – white
These colors are subject to change based on the Homeland Security
Department's terrorist threat level.

Joe will be sweeping all courses for dropped maps, gel/bar wrappers,
and dog poop. We have your DNA and will be able to track it back to
you. If you are found to have littered, or stepped off an official
trail (we have your shoe prints too) you will be reported to Officer
Hinkson of Jefferson County Sheriffs.

All runners are required to finish by the designated time. There will
be a 10 min grace period, after which we will send out a search party.
You will be charged for any rescue attempts, whether or not you need
them. All rescue charges will go to Todd Holmes at Alpine Rescue, and
Jan Ingebrigtsen at Gilpin County Search and Rescue.

Any runner who reaches the top of a major climb ahead of Adam, or
behind Dave will be subject to immediate blood testing. Marion Jones
will administer all drug tests.

All fees, unless otherwise specified, will go to either Hannah's
college fund, or the DTR Manor House Purchase Fund.

Any questions or comments about these rules should be submitted to the
DTR commissars governing board by April 15. Please check the date of
this message before submitting any questions or comments.
