MOVIE
"Spirit of the Marathon" movie encore screening. Last month's
screening sold out. It got good reviews from those who saw it last
month. If you are planning to attend this encore screening, you should
buy your tickets in advance. At least, check with one of the theaters
in advance. The closest showings to the run are at the Colorado Mills
16 (just across I70 and Colfax from the run), and Bel Mar 16 (near
Alameda and Wadsworth).
This is the first ever non-fiction feature film to capture the drama
and essence of the famed 26.2 mile running event. Filmed on four
continents, the production brings together a diverse cast of amateur
athletes and marathon luminaries. As six unique stories unfold, each
runner prepares for and ultimately faces the challenge of the Chicago
Marathon. More than a sports program, "Spirit of the Marathon" is an
inspirational journey of perseverance and personal triumph; a
spectacle that will be embraced by runners and non-runners alike.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the theater, online
at http://www.fathomevents.com, or at the door. That site also has
video clips of the movie. It's not known whether this will sell out,
so you might want to get yours in advance. Do not confuse this theater
with the one at Denver West. The UA Colorado Mills Stadium 16 is at
the east end of Colorado Mills Mall.
