Yes there will be a run tonight (in case there is any doubt), at Lookout.
As long as the roads are open, I can almost guarantee that at least a few of the
regulars will be there (some say the snow affects our ability to make rational
decisions). We will be running, not snowshoeing. Lookout is a great place to run
in the snow. We've run there in blizzards before. The trail can be a lot of fun
after the snow covers and fills in the spaces between the rocks. I recommend
traction devices (e.g., screwshoes, YakTrax) and gaitors for the trail. The road
is also a good route in the snow. Traction devices will be helpful there too.
Without traction devices, a trail shoe might work well.
Get all ready to start, and wait inside your car until it's time to
start. We'll pop out of our cars just before we start running. Don't
expect much chit-chat before or right after the run. After the run,
we'll quickly get into our cars, change, then head to Golden for
dinner, where we'll be able to socialize in the warm and dry.
