Full Moon Run - Sunday Evening 12/23   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #827 of 1495 |
Join us for a full moon run on Sunday, 12/23, at Mount Falcon UPPER
Lot. Meet at 5:30pm.

Mount Falcon has two upper lots adjacent to each other, so be sure to
continue beyond the equestrian parking and go to the lot further up.

Moonrise for Sunday is at 4:11pm, so the moon will have risen well into
the sky over Denver by the time we start our run. Beginning our run at
the upper lot gives us several prime viewing spots. We'll first run to
the Eagle Eye Shelter, with views of both Mt. Evans and Pike's Peak.
Then we'll go to the fire tower for great views to the east. The run
continues down across the meadow and toward the gazebo. We'll bear
right before the gazebo and head out to the end of the Two-Dog Trail,
for a great view overlooking the hogback and Denver. Then we'll
proceed to the gazebo, up to the Summer White House Ruins, and back to
the start.

This is mainly a social run, so we'll keep the pace casual. It should
take about 45-60 minutes, including brief stops. For trail maps and
directions to the Mount Falcon Upper Lot, please visit
http://dtr.runuphillracing.com/Maps and click on the Mount Falcon -
Upper link.
