FULL MOON RUN - Saturday, 11/24, 6:15pm, South Table Mountain.
It appears we'll have optimal conditions for a full moon run. The
forecast calls for skies to clear on Saturday, with temps finally
warming up a bit. Moonrise will occur prior to sunset, so the full
moon will have climbed well into the sky by the time our run begins.
Meet at the NREL lot at 6:15pm. This will be a social run. We'll
keep the pace somewhat casual and will group up at key
intersections. Those who have extra energy (or Thanksgiving
calories) to burn off are welcome to run ahead as a faster group, but
the majority will hang together for this fun run under the bright
moon.
South Table Mountain is a prime location for this, given the open
terrain, non-technical trails, and outstanding views of the moon over
the city, especially on the way back. As with the Thursday night
runs, we'll go for about an hour. We'll head for the Golden Stairs,
for the clifftop view overlooking downtown Golden. It's a good idea
to bring your headlamp, but often the moonlight alone is adequate to
light your way. Join us for dinner afterward, at a location to be
determined by the group.
