Just because it's Thanksgiving, doesn't mean we're skipping the run.
We'll be running in the morning. This will give you a chance to build
up a good appetite for the afternoon gluttony of food and football.
The holiday and daylight will give us a chance to run a trail we don't
normally do on Thursday nights.
We'll be running the Mesa Trail in Boulder, starting from the S end,
in Eldorado Springs. The Mesa Trail is the main trail thoroughfare in
SW Boulder. It is perhaps the most popular trail for runners, hikers
and climbers. No bikes allowed. The trail system is very well marked.
There are a number of trails going off to the E to town, and W up
behind the flatirons. If you follow the signs, you shouldn't worry too
much about getting lost.
The Mesa Trail is a series of rolling hills. The southern end, from
the start, is a wide, smooth, long moderate climb, in the open. The
rest is mostly a series of rolling hills, 50-200 yardslong, with some
flat sections, mostly in the trees. The trail is a mix of smooth and
moderately rocky, about a 3 on the 1-5 technical rating.

The trail is out-and-back, so you can go as short and long (almost) as
you want. Some of us will run to Chautauqua Park and back, about 6.5mi
each way. That will take about 2-2.5 hours. Others may only go an
hour. Everyone is welcome.
Meet us at the trailhead at 8:45am, or meet at 8am to carpool.
Carpool locations:
Loaf 'n Jug directions: 102 N Rubey Dr, Golden, 80403, near Iowa and
hwy 93. Just up from the gas station, meet by the semi-circular drive,
with parking spaces around a grass and walkway median. From the
intersection of hwys 6, 58 & 93 in Golden, go north on hwy 93 towards
Boulder. After 3/4mi, turn right at the first right, Iowa, then take
the first left.

From Denver, meet at the park-n-ride lot, at 70th & Broadway. This is
near the junctions of I25, US36, and I76. From the S, via I25, take
the 70th avenue exit. It's on the right side, on the ramp to I-76.
Turn left on 70th for one block. The lot is on the NW corner. From the
east, take hwy 270, to US36, to the Broadway (first) exit. Go left one
block.

FULL MOON RUN
Saturday is a full moon. That means a full moon run. These are social
runs. That means an easy pace, where we try to stay together and wait
for people at key intersections.
We're looking for a leader. As the leader, you get to pick the time
and location. You also greet the runners, explain the route, get
people started, and make sure everyone makes it back; you'll get help
from the other runners. You don't need to be the fastest in the group.
If interested in leading (first come, first serve), send us a message
with the time and location. Please send it by noon on Tuesday, so we
have time to get it out by the end of the business day.

FEATURED RACES/CARPOOLS
12/1: Tennessee Pass 5-miler snowshoe. The traditional kick-off to the
snowshoe season. This is a good course for beginners – the course is
hilly, but mostly on groomed trails, so you won't have to run through
powder. Free loaners are typically available, but check with the race
directors. This and all other snowshoe races will require more snow to
happen.
