OPEN SPACE
Thanks to those of you who have sent your comments on Jeffco OS
trails. However, I've only heard from a few of you. If you want to
have a voice, if you want trail runners to have as much of a say as
mountain bikers and other users, I need to hear from you. I (Adam)
will be presenting your views at the Trail Users Task Force (TUTF)
meeting, on Oct 23. Please respond by this weekend so I have time to
compile the responses for the meeting.
Go to the message/link below:
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DenverTrailRunners/message/802
Please respond to the questions in the third paragraph, as well as the
survey at the bottom. Please place your responses in the e-mail, not
as an attachment.
More info on Jeffco OS, and the TUTF, can be found at

THURSDAY RUN
Run Location: Bear Creek Lake Park. Meet outside the park, just W of
C-470, in the dirt lot, at the corner of Rooney and Morrison roads,
across from the gas station and bike path. There are three
/times/groups to choose from:
Mary's group - 3:30pm
Scott's group - 5:30pm
Main group - 6:00pm
Run Notes: Bear Creek Lake Park is one of our regular winter run
locations. The trails are mostly flat and not that rocky. The park
roads and bike paths provide a vehicle free (almost) paved option when
it's too snowy (like most of last winter) or muddy. This week,
everyone should be able to make it across Turkey Creek while it's
still light. After that, the trail to the base of the dam is fairly
open and smooth. From the base of the dam, you can take paved roads back.
Sunset 6:17pm
End Civil Twilight 6:44pm
Upcoming Thursday schedule (subject to change):
10/25: Green Mtn. 6:07/6:35. FM 10:52pm; moonrise at 5:36pm.
We're open to suggestions after this.
If you are new to DTR and unfamiliar with the trails, and for more

DONATE SHOES
Nicholas Sterner writes
"The AIR Foundation is implementing a running program for the at-risk
youth population at Urban Peak. The running program is supported by a
highly enthusiastic group of Urban Peak's case management and
development staff. If we can get the youth to participate for one
month, Etonic will reward their committment by providing the youth
with new shoes!
The program begins on October 18! Based on the required one-month
participation period, and the shoe delivery period, the youth will be
running for about 6 weeks on whatever used or new running shoes we can
provide.
Urban Peak provides services to youth between the ages of 15 – 24, so
most adult sizes should work out fine. The shoes can be used or new.
Shoe donations can be made by contacting The AIR Foundation directly
or by taking the shoes to Runner's Roost in Lakewood at 437 S.
Wadsworth (just South of Alameda on the West side of Wadsworth)."
