Join us for some training runs in the nearby mountains. These are good
training for Imogene, Breck Crest, Trans-Rockies, or just some good
runs in some great places.

Saturday: Squaw Peak. We're going to run some hill repeats. There's a
~1.8mi hill, on a service road, that climbs ~700', to ~11,450'. This
is a good simulation of the Imogene course. If you don't want to run
the hill hard, you can run easier in the same area, and take a nearby
trail up Chief Mtn. We'll run about 1:15-1:30, including warm-up and
cool-down.

Meet at 7:30am, at the base of hwy 103 (Squaw Pass Rd), in the lot, by
the ballfields. This is across the fields from the RTD park-n-ride
lot. From Denver, take I70 to Evergreen Parkway, exit #252. Follow hwy
74 ~2.5mi, to the light at hwy 103. Turn left into the lot. From
there, we'll carpool ~11 miles up hwy 103, to near the Echo Mtn
snowboard area.

Sunday: Argentine Pass. We'll run 3-3.5 hours. This is an out-and-back
run, so you'll get as high as you can before turning around. The pass
is 13,192', with views of the backside of Keystone, Grays, Montezuma,
and more. We're going to start off of Guanella Pass Rd, about 3-4 mi
above Georgetown.

Meet at 6:45am, at the Cold Spring Park-n-Ride, 4th and Union, in
Lakewood. Take 6th ave. to the Simms/Union exit. Go south. Take the
first left at 4th, then left into the lot. Look for me in a white
Prius, license plate RUNUPHL.

If coming from Evergreen, we'll pick you up at the bottom of Floyd
Hill (jct of hwy 65 & I70), at 7:15am. RSVP if meeting us here so we
know to stop and wait for you. Reply is not necessary if meeting us at
Cold Spring.

If you're late or lost, call me at 303-870-0487.

We hope to start running a little after 8:00am.

Other regularly scheduled weekend runs:
Evergreen Runners Circle. Approx 60 minute runs, moderately paced
8/18, 8:30am, Evergreen Lakehouse
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Lodge/7018/index.html

Sunday Golden runs. Varying lengths (e.g. 6-14+ miles) and paces,
depending on the interests of the runners on that day.
7:30am, outside Brooks Field, School of Mines stadium, 12th & Birch.
