Join us Sunday for a long run at Herman's Gulch. Herman's Gulch is off
of I-70, at the last exit before the Loveland ski area, #218, about
10mi past Georgetown.
The start is at about 10,300'. The run goes uphill, starting in the
trees, then opening up into a gorgeous meadow. Continue up to the
lake, about 3mi one-way, about 12,000'. Shortly before the lake, we'll
go right onto the Continental Divide trail. This takes us up to around
13,000'. There are great views; consider bringing a camera. You can
continue N and E along the divide trail to Jones Pass, Berthoud Pass,
and beyond. We won't go that far. We'll agree on a turn around time at
the start.
The run is out-and-back, so you can go as long or short as you want.
If you're tired after the Golden Gate Canyon race, join us and just do
it as a great hike.
Meet at 7:00am, at the Cold Spring Park-n-Ride, 4th and Union, in
Lakewood. Take 6th ave. to the Simms/Union exit. Go south. Take the
first left at 4th, then left into the lot. Look for me in a white
Prius, license plate RUNUPHL.
