The Pike-San Isabel National Forest (PSI) is undertaking two reviews
that are of interest to us, and are seeking public input. There's a
meeting for public input Tuesday night, 1/30, 5:30-9:00pm, at the
Clements Community Center, in Lakewood, 1580 Yarrow (1 block N of
Colfax; 1 block W of Wadsworth).
They are rewriting the 15-20 year Forest Management Plan, which will
determine how the land will be used. PSI includes most of the nearby
forest areas, including Mt. Evans, Buffalo Creek, Montezuma, South
Park, Rampart Range, Pikes Peak, and the Mosquito Range. These are
areas where we run, bike, snowshoe, ski, camp, hike, fish, etc. Please
let your voice be heard. The world goes to those who show up.
Other public meetings are:
1/31, Colorado Springs
2/14, Westcliffe
2/15, Pueblo
2/21, Fairplay
