IN THIS WEEK'S MESSAGE:

+ Thursday evening run
+ Other DTR affiliated runs: Sat Evergreen, Sun Golden
+ Carpools
+ Featured Races: Run the Register
+ Talks, Clinics, and other Non-Race Events
+ Race/clinic/event calendar

FULL MOON RUN
The party is back on for this Wednesday. We will meet at Rick, Christine,
Christoph and Bobby's house, for a full moon run, and potluck party. See
directions below.

Time: Start arriving around 6:00pm. The run will start around 6:20pm.

The moonrise is at 4:53pm.

Run Notes: This is a social run. We will wait at key intersections and
frequently regroup. That means a slow pace for the faster runners and
comfortable pace for the intermediate runners; we'll wait for the
slower runners. This is not a workout. There will be a road and trail
option. For those running the trail, you will probably want either
snowshoes, or some sort of ice device (see previous posting) on your
running shoes.

Party: The hosts will be providing chili, both meat and veggie. DTR
will provide plastic utensils, plates/bowls, napkins (paper), etc.
Please bring: beer/wine/soda/juice, salads, breads, side dishes, desserts.

Everyone is welcome to come to the party whether or not you run that
night, and whether or not you can bring some food/drink. We always
have plenty to share.

Directions:
Take C470 to the Quincy exit.
From the N, go L at the end of the off ramp and head S.
From the S, go L at the end of the off ramp, over the hwy, and continue S.
The road ends at Belleview. Turn R.
Go ~1.5mi up the hill.
Just past the lake on the left, turn L on Willow Springs Drive.
Go over several speed bumps, then stay L at the fork on Willow Springs
Drive.
At the next fork/stop sign, the house is directly in front of you.
Turn L and park by the first driveway on the R.
H: (303) 277-1817
C: (720) 284-4217

Alternate directions from the N, to avoid heavy C470 traffic:
Continue W on I70, past C470, to the Red Rocks exit, #259, as if going
to the Hogback route.
Go S (L from Denver, R from Evergreen), ~2mi, to the end of the road,
in Morrison.
Turn R in Morrison, on hwy 74 for ~¼mi.
Turn L on hwy 8.
Go up the hill, past the turn to Mt. Falcon, ~1.5mi, to The Fort
restaurant.
Just past The Fort, just before hwy 285, turn L onto Willow Springs.
Follow the road down a steep hill, under the hwy, and steeply up the
other side.
After the road crests, and starts heading gently downhill, by the
country club, turn right on Willow Springs Drive.
Follow the above directions to the house.

THURSDAY RUN
Location: Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP).

Time: The early group meets at 5:30pm. The main group will start
between at 6:15pm.

Run notes: BCLP gives us the option of running either the paved
road/bike path, or dirt trails, depending on conditions and the
group's wishes. The trails are usually very run-able in snow and ice.

If you are new to DTR, or unfamiliar with the trails, directions or
ratings, please follow the link below to maps, route descriptions,
driving directions, FAQs, and other information.

OTHER DTR AFFILIATED RUNS

SATURDAY EVERGREEN
The Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) holds FREE runs every Saturday,
8:30am, on trails, in the Evergreen area. Several DTR regulars join
these runs. The ERC runs are typically about 60 minutes long. They
usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Please forward your
questions to Dave via the ERC link below. For more info about the ERC
schedules, go to: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Lodge/7018/index.html
Schedule:
1/6: Golden Watershed
1/13: Chief Hosa

SUNDAY GOLDEN
Golden weekend runs are Sundays at 7:30 a.m. Meet outside Brooks
Field, CSM Stadium, on 12th Street in Golden, and run on one of six or
more different routes in the Golden area. All of the courses allow for
varying lengths (e.g. 6-14+ miles) and paces, depending on the
interests of the runners on that day. For further information contact
Ron Benioff at rnbenioff@... 303-279-6152.

Interested in another weekday or weekend group run? Pick a time and
place, and we'll post it to the group.

CARPOOLS

FEATURED RACES
*2/25; Run the Register Stair Climb
Denver Trail Runners is putting together teams for the race. The race
is up 47 floors, 1,014 steps, in the "Cash Register" building (Wells
Fargo Center), downtown Denver.

Justin has set up a Denver Trail Runners team. If there is enough
interest, we can set up a separate women's team, and additional DTR
teams. Please let me know if you are interested in setting up
additional teams. Otherwise, join the DenverTrailRunners team when you
sign up.

Running up 47 floors is a bit longer than running a mile, and a lot
harder. Last year's winning time was 6:10 men, 6:41 women. If you can
run 1 mile faster than about 6:50, you should sign up in the "elite"
category. That allows you to start early, so you won't have to fight
your way around lots of slower walkers.

More to come later.
