It's time to clear out those old running shoes and race shirts taking
up space in your closet. Every year, I collect clothing from various
running groups, and take it to homeless shelters. I will collect your
old shoes and shirts, at the Thursday night runs, over the next
several weeks.

You can do this yourself too, and get a tax donation. Several running
stores recycle old shoes. I know Runners Roost does,

also check other running stores. I usually take the clothing to the

THURSDAY RUN
Location: Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP). Note changes to the map and
trails (hopefully updated on the web site before Thursday).

Time: The early group starts around 5:30pm. The main group will start
at 6:00pm. EARLY START TIME!

Sunset 6:16pm. End civil twilight 6:43pm.

Run notes: BCLP is one of our regular winter locations. The trails are
mostly flat and suitable for running in snow and ice. The park roads
and bike paths are good if it's too muddy, or if you don't have a
light or feel comfortable on trails at night.

SATURDAY EVERGREEN
The Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) holds FREE runs every Saturday,
8:30am, on trails, in the Evergreen area. Several DTR regulars join
these runs. The ERC runs are typically about 60 minutes long. They
usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Please forward your

SUNDAY GOLDEN
Golden weekend runs are Sundays at 7:30 a.m. Meet outside Brooks
Field, CSM Stadium, on 12th Street in Golden, and run on one of six or
more different routes in the Golden area. All of the courses allow for
varying lengths (e.g. 6-14+ miles) and paces, depending on the
interests of the runners on that day. For further information contact

JEFFCO OPEN SPACE MEETING
Thursday night is a Trail Users Task Force meeting at Jefferson County
Open Space (JEFFCO). The agenda includes discussions of: North and
South Table Mountains, Centennial Cone, Matthews/Winters, and Reynolds
Park development plan updates. I plan on attending after the run. I
encourage others to join me to help show the trail runners numbers
(there probably won't be an opportunity to speak).

The meeting is scheduled for 7-9pm (I'll get there a little late), at
the JEFFCO offices, 700 Jefferson County Parkway. More info at:

MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL
The Telluride Mountain Film Festival is coming to Golden. The films
will show Friday, Oct. 27, at the American Mountaineering Center, 710
10th Street, Golden. The showing is a benefit for the Alpine Rescue
