THURSDAY RUN
Location: Bear Creek Lake Park (T2, P1-2, N3). The trails are good for
running in the snow. The park roads and bike paths are good alternates
if you prefer.
Please read the route description and map if you haven't run here before.
Time: The early group starts around 5:30pm. The main group starts at
6:15pm.
It's supposed to be very cold on Thursday. We'll sit in our cars until
ready to go. I'll beep my horn and/or flash my lights when we're ready
to go.
Traffic tips: C-470 can be very slow from I-70 to Morrison Rd. An
alternate route is to take I-70 to the Red Rocks exit, #259, the next
exit after I-70. Go left, S, down the hill to the end in Morrison.
Turn left at the light and go ~1/2 mi to the start.
Via 6th ave., stay on the hwy to the end. Go left at the light onto
Colfax/US40. Continue up the hill and under I-70. Then follow the
above directions.
From Boulder, Golden, etc., Take hwy 93, to hwy 6, to the Taj Mahal
(Jeffco administration bldg.). Turn right at the light onto Heritage
rd. At the end, turn right up US40. Continue under I-70, then follow
the above directions.
If you are new to DTR, or unfamiliar with the trails, directions or
ratings, please follow the link below to maps, route descriptions,
driving directions, FAQs, and other information.

WEEKEND GROUPS
The Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) holds FREE runs every Saturday,
8:30am, on trails, in the Evergreen area. Several DTR regulars join
these runs. The ERC runs are typically about 60 minutes long. They
usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Please forward your
questions to Dave via the ERC link below. For more info about the ERC
schedules, go to: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Lodge/7018/index.html
Schedule:

2/25 - Evergreen Lake House
3/4 - Genesee Overlook
3/11 - Evergreen HS
3/18 - Elk Meadow, lower lot
3/25 - Upper Bear Creek, 5mi marker
Golden weekend runs are Sundays at 7:30 a.m. Meet outside Brooks
Field, CSM Stadium, on 12th Street in Golden, and run on one of six or
more different routes in the Golden area. All of the courses allow
for varying lengths (e.g. 6-14+ miles) and paces, depending on the
interests of the runners on that day. For further information contact
Ron Benioff at rnbenioff@..., 303-279-6152.
The Incline Club holds long runs, on Sundays, in the Pike Peak area.
They stay fairly low over the winter, then gradually venture up higher
as the trails dry, in the spring. There is a large turnout, often >100
people, even over the winter, with a wide range of abilities. For more
info, go to http://www.inclineclub.com
If you are interested in carpooling to these runs, contact me and I
will share your e-mail address with others who are also interested.

26th, a few blocks E of Kipling. Take 6th ave or I-70 to Wadsworth or
Kipling. Go N from 6th, or S from I-70, to 26th. Go W from Wadsworth,

Join the Denver Trail Runners team at the Run the Register stair
climb, Feb. 26. The stair climb race goes up the Wells Fargo, "Cash
Register" building, downtown Denver. The climb is 47 floors, 1,014
stairs, about 6-12 minutes of effort for most runners. A few of us did
some practice runs there last weekend. It's not quite the same as
running up a steep hill. The race benefits the American Lung
Association. http://www.runtheregister.com/
