This week's Thursday night run will be at Ken Caryl (T=3, P=4, N=3).
Meet at the Manor House. The main group will start at 6:25pm; the early
group usually meets at 5:30pm.

We will run the upper loop, but in a different direction from the route
descriptions on the web site. Please bring a printout of the map.
Everyone will start together up the Manor House trail (blue line). The
Manor House trail is a wide, dirt, service road. We will stay together
to the first junctions. This is one of our longer runs. Expect to run
1:20-1:30.

The medium fast group will take a right just before that onto Stove
Prairie, like the start of the lower loop. About 1/2 mi out, look for
signs to the Bradford Trail. Take the left fork and climb the single
track to the top, past Tarryall, Silvercliff, and Beacon Hill. You can
include the Tin Cup trail if you want. Continue to the top of the Manor
House trail (blue line), and take it down to the finish.

The fastest group (you know who you are) will continue a little further
up Manor House, then take the first left onto the Colorow trail (purple
line). Follow this down and bear right to the Massey Draw. We'll
regroup there. Go right and climb the steep and technical canyon. We'll
regroup at the top of Massey Draw, at the junction to the Gothic
overlook. Continue on a series of ups and downs, N along the possibly
overgrown Shaffer trail. Then, go right down the Manor House trail to
the end.

The slow and intermediate runner will continue past these first two
junctions up the Manor House trail. Take a right at either the Domino
or Shaffer/Beacon Hill trail junctions, and over to the Bradford
single-track. Go left up the single track, and follow the above routes
back to and down the Manor House trail.

Everyone is invited to dinner after the run. We usually go to Chipotle,
just E of C-470.

Wed mornings, run stairs at Red Rocks. This is a "show-and-go" workout,
meaning that just start whenever you show up. People have been starting
anywhere from 5:30-6:30am. See the Tuesday message for more info.

Wed mornings, every other week, join Derek Griffith for a long run near
Ken Caryl. He starts at his house, 28 Tecoma Circle, at 6:30am, and
runs for up to 2 hours, 12-15 miles. Contact Derek for more

This Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is from the Alderfer
Three Sisters. The ERC runs are typically about 60 minutes long. They
usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Please forward your

Volunteers are needed for several upcoming races. Races don't happen
without volunteer support.

6/12, the inaugural Rocky Mountain ½ marathon and Luna Women's 8k run,
at the Pepsi Center in Denver. I am coordinating volunteers with Potts.
We still need a few volunteers. I can especially use someone to ride a
bike following the last runners. This is a big money race that should
attract a large and strong field. Volunteers get a shirt and free

* Registration is now open for my races - the Golden Gate Canyon Trail
run on June 26, and the Twilight Trail Series races on June 22, July 13
& 27, and Aug 3. Parking is limited for the Golden Gate Canyon race, so
